Session 001: Genesis 1: Traditional and Eastern Thought

Session OverviewSession ResourcesSession Discussion Points

This week we are diving into scripture for the first time. Our scripture will be from Gensis 1:1 to Genesis 2:3; the creation story as most people know it from the Bible. On our resource tab we have a short introduction to the materal, links to dramatized readings of the scripture and three separate podcasts that present the creation story from three different perspectives. This material should be wonderful fertilizer for our group discussion.

Enjoy!

Session 000: Introductions

Session OverviewSession ResourcesSession Discussion Points

Before we begin looking into Genesis 1, we are going to research into different ways that people think about Genesis and the Bible as a whole. The examples that we will look at are by no means exhaustive, they do represent a few different perspectives that should help with our discussion time on how we will look at scripture.

Session -001: Organizational Meeting and The Apostles and Nicene Creeds

Session OverviewSession ResourcesSession Discussion Points

Since this concept is a new one, our first meeting (we’ll call it Session -001) will be primarily organizational. Since the class is designed to be run by everyone (there’s will be no sitting back and absorbing without contributing) we’ll have to agree on our rules of engagement and processes.

After that, we will look at the two most used creeds of the Christian faith. During this class, we will be involving ourselves with heavy topics and deep discussions where not all of us are going to agree. Because of that, it will be important for us to start this journey studying the things that we all agree on as Christians.

Refer to the Resources tab for access to the a comparison of the two most common creeds.
